As a leading FinTech player in France, Skaalet has developed a SaaS Core Banking Platform (CBP) to support banking institutions with powerful technology, operational in over 40 institutions, managing over 10 millions accounts worldwide. Based on an API-First, scalable approach, it improves data management, optimizes processes and enhances operational agility. BeTomorrow was approached by Skaalet to develop a white-label application tailored to various markets, aimed at improving its BtoBtoC mobile offering, with an innovative design focused on "Frugal design." Operating in emerging markets and also planning to enter Western markets, BeTomorrow advised Skaalet on the optimal adoption of the solution in the market, ensuring compliance with the requirements of the DSP2.
Our teams have implemented rigorous testing protocols, in compliance with the DSP2 requirements, to ensure maximum security. Data and transaction protection have been placed at the heart of the project, with advanced measures to guarantee their integrity. At the same time, the application was designed to meet the specific needs of emerging markets, promoting financial inclusion and providing a smooth user experience across a wide range of devices. To minimize equipment obsolescence, our teams integrated eco-design practices, ensuring the application's long-term sustainability.
One of the main challenges of the project was developing a white-label application that would enable the creation of shared deployment pipelines. This allowed us to provide a single codebase while offering a highly customizable application (labels, bank logos, etc.) so that each institution could personalize its interface, thus strengthening user trust by providing a unique experience. A key aspect of offering this shared core was to optimize Skaalet's profitability while enhancing user confidence. Finally, to complete our project solution, we created a bespoke web portal, offering a complementary interface tailored to users' needs.
Our UX/UI experts created intuitive interfaces, compatible with a wide range of smartphones and tablets. To reduce the high bounce rate observed with Skaleet's webview, which used a non-personalized URL, we rethought the authentication process. Initially implemented on the webview, it was later integrated directly into the app with dedicated screens. Drawing inspiration from the best practices in the market, we also incorporated the latest design trends, using strong references, particularly for the wallet and banking features. This approach allowed us to create a functional, ergonomic application that met user expectations, enhancing their trust and loyalty.
We adopted a flexible methodology (functional breakdown and roadmap tracking) to stay within budget and meet deadlines. This approach enabled us to deliver regular updates during the construction phase, facilitating demonstrations with various clients. These deliveries allowed us to integrate valuable feedback, not only from users but also from banks, thus enriching the application. It also enabled us to iterate quickly based on client feedback, market developments, while maintaining constant communication with Skaleet.

The means/results ratio is very good : in just 4 months, we have a very fine application. I'm proud of the application! The foundations are good and we've got the app working well with the API, so the bar is high. But we can't stop there!
